Dress Code Requirements

 

Please note:

This dress code policy has been established so that the dancer’s body placement and posture are visible. While in the parking lot or lobby students should be covered in street clothes and shoes. Chewing gum and/or jewelry (including earrings, necklaces, and bracelets) is NOT acceptable. Please ensure that your dancer’s belongings are labeled.

Ballet

For ballet, girls must wear a purple leotard and pink ballet shoes. The dancer’s hair must be worn back and off the neck, preferably in a bun, for class. Dancers should also wear their class level’s colored skirt. No other clothing is allowed, such as shorts, hoodies, or pants, for ballet class.

Tap, Jazz, and Musical Theater

Girls must wear a purple leotard and black tap and black jazz shoes. For tap and jazz, however, students may wear jazz dance pants with purple leotard.

Lyrical and Contemporary

For lyrical, students have to wear purple leotard and tights; shorts are permitted for lyrical only.

Tumbling

For tumbling, students should wear a purple leotard and black shorts/pants. No tights or socks.

Hip Hop

For hip hop classes, students should wear loose, comfortable clothing and sneakers- no tight jeans.

Majorette

For majorette classes, students should wear loose, comfortable clothing and bare feet- no tight jeans, please.
